Mallards Crossing is a small neighborhood in the far northwestern edge of Richmond, Virginia; it has been my home since December 13, 1986. In many ways, living here has changed my life, mostly by making me more aware of and more sensitive to the daily experiences and struggles of the animals and birds who co-inhabit this small piece of ground.  This is a blog about all of us.
